Community Gift Card Drive https://www.jlsp.org/community-gift-card-drive/ Sun, 05 Dec 2021 23:32:14 +0000 https://www.jlsp.org/?p=3610 This holiday season,  JLSP is donating gift cards to Women’s Advocates. JLSP has a long history of partnering with Women’s Advocates and we’re very excited to support them again this year.

Every November/December, Women’s Advocates collects gift cards for the families they support to go holiday shopping. This year, their goal is to raise $12,000 in gift cards to stores such as Walmart, Cub Foods, and/or Holiday Gas Stations.
As part of your participation in the holiday party this year, please consider bringing a gift card of any amount to the holiday party. All gift cards collected will be dropped off at Women’s Advocates to be used by their families. Can’t bring a gift card? You can donate money and those funds will be used to purchase additional gift cards on your behalf!

Wear Blue Campaign https://www.jlsp.org/wear-blue/ Mon, 02 Oct 2017 21:47:06 +0000 https://www.jlsp.org/?p=2840

In January, the Junior League of Saint Paul (JLSP) will introduce the Wear Blue Campaign: A new social media fueled fundraiser and advocacy campaign aimed at bringing awareness to Human Trafficking in the Twin Cities. Participants will wear blue and use the power of social media to drive online donations collected through the charitable fundraising site Crowdrise. The funds raised make possible the work of the Junior League of Saint Paul:  promoting voluntary service, developing the potential of women and improving the community. Following the campaign a portion of the proceeds will be donated to local charities to help continue the fight against Human Trafficking.

What is the Wear Blue Campaign?

Wear Blue is a Human Trafficking awareness and fundraising campaign aimed at bringing attention to the issue of human trafficking in the Twin Cities. Participants will wear blue along with a Wear Blue button for 5 days to spark conversation with the community.

Why is this campaign necessary?

The Twin Cities is not immune to the horrors and devastation of human trafficking. The FBI has identified the Twin Cities as one of the nation’s 13 largest centers for child prostitution. Each month in Minnesota at least 213 underage girls are sold for sex an average of five times per day through the Internet and escort services. This number does not include hotel, street or gang activity.1

When does the Wear Blue Campaign begin?

Wear Blue will run from January 29th to February 2nd.

Who can participate?

The fundraiser is open to everyone, not just JLSP members. The campaign is to raise public awareness on human trafficking and the work JLSP does in developing women to become trained volunteers, civic leaders and advocates in their community.

How do I donate?

Please visit and share our Crowdrise page here
