Women Building a Better Community
For 95 years, the Junior League of Saint Paul (JLSP) has improved the Saint Paul community. Members work together to identify unmet needs, forge effective coalitions and work for change, all on a volunteer basis. No other non-profit works quite the way that Junior Leagues do. Acting with courage and commitment, JLSP is proud to be among the first organizations to consistently identify and work to address the community's biggest challenges.
The League’s current initiative, "Healthy Bodies, Healthy Brains" seeks to impact children’s readiness to learn as it relates to the issue area of food insecurity and nutrition. To support this initiative our Backpack Buddies Program is designed to bridge the gap between Friday and Monday when food may not be available for children whose primary source of nutrition is the school cafeteria. Additionally, we have partnered with HungerFree MN, to support its goal to close the missing meals gap for Minnesotans, particularly children. Through these programs the League intends to help eradicate the limited or uncertain availability of nutritionally adequate and safe food.
