Where:                                 West Saint Paul Armory, 1346 South Robert Street, West Saint Paul, MN 55118

When:                  Saturday, September 29 from 8:00 am – 4:00 pm

“We are excited about our move to the West Saint Paul Armory,” said JLSP president Beth Schatz. “The new location gives us even greater visibility for the sale. Families looking to outfit kids for fall and winter as well as our annual ‘treasure hunters’ will find a huge selection of items.”

JLSP first opened a simple store in downtown Saint Paul selling second hand clothing to the public in 1949. Today, that Next To New Shop has transformed into a one-day sale of clothing (adult, children, and baby), furniture, artwork, toys, household items and décor, books, sporting goods, and fine antiques, all at a fraction of the retail price.

“Next To New has become one of the largest secondhand sales and most anticipated events in the Twin Cities,” said Lauren McKliget, co-chair of the Sale committee. “Items are generously donated by JLSP members, local businesses and other friends of JLSP.”

The Sale will also feature a bag sale at 2:00 pm when attendees can purchase all items they can put in a bag provided by JLSP ($5 for regular size and $10 for extra large). And, Cream of the Crop items including jewelry, designer accessories, and other higher end items.

“The legacy of JLSP in the community can be largely attributed to the success of Next To New,” Schatz explained the importance of the Sale. “Proceeds from the Sale support the League’s projects in the community, ensuring our ability to successfully bring the Junior League’s mission to life in Saint Paul. Next To New has made it possible for JLSP to support vital community needs. We’ve impacted our community on issues from low-income senior housing to drug education programs, the arts, domestic violence prevention, and improving the nutrition of school children.”
