how we help
The Junior League of Saint Paul strives to strengthen our community by providing innovative programs, education and thousands of volunteer hours through our various projects. We work to find unmet needs in the community, develop programs to fulfill those needs and then pass those developed programs back to the community to continue once they are firmly and successfully established. |

Who we are |
|
Our Vision Our Focus |
Our current initiative is Building Bonds through Reading and Play. The Junior League of Saint Paul will educate parents, caregivers and other adults on the small actions - reading a book, playing a game, completing a puzzle - that have big returns - a long-lasting, safe and abuse free relationship that will provide the foundation necessary for a child’s future success and a stronger Saint Paul. The Junior League of Saint Paul is proud to bring projects to our community which will not only help prevent abuse by strengthening bonds, but will also contribute to children’s social, emotional and cognitive development. Our Projects Done in a Day - This project works in collaboration with community partners by offering Junior League of Saint Paul volunteers for one day projects that are consistent with JLSP’s mission. Library Kids - JLSP introduces pre-kindergartners to the magic of reading and the resources of the public libraries by giving 3,500 children their own book along with a brochure for their caregivers that includes reading lists, tips and encourages them to get their own library card. Saint Paul Plays! - This project brings the power of play to the community through city-wide Saint Paul game nights, in partnership with the City of Saint Paul Mayor’s office and Saint Paul Parks and Recreation, as well as events at local shelters and other community facilities. Kids in the Kitchen - JLSP offers this national Junior League initiative as a project for some of our new member class. This committee conducts programs to raise awareness and provide solutions for the growing health problems associated with childhood obesity. For members only |
