Working together, we identify unmet needs, forge effective coalitions and work for change, all on a volunteer basis. No other non-profits work quite the way that Junior Leagues do. It takes courage and commitment - time and again, the Junior League of Saint Paul is among the first organizations to step up to a community's biggest challenges.
Impact
Our current initiative, Building Bonds through Reading and Play, seeks to reduce child abuse by promoting programs that create connections between adults and children. Our Library Kids program gives pre-kindergarten children in Saint Paul a book along with educational materials for the parents on the importance of reading to and with your child. Saint Paul Plays! brings the developmental value and connection-making power of play to Saint Paul families through play events at area recreation centers.
Success
Our all volunteer organization annually provides thousands of volunteer hours to support our mission. Our members take the knowledge and skills they learn into other areas of the community - other non-profits, their childrens' schools, institutions off faith and into the for-profit sector.
